Kite surfing or kite boarding is a fast paced adventure surface water sport.  Kite surfing harnesses the power of the wind to propel a rider across the surface of the water on a kite board.  It is a fun and social sport that can improve your fitness and give you a real adrenaline buzz.

360 works in partnership with Gower Kite Riders, a BKSA school which has been operating on Swansea Bay for several years, to bring you kite surfing at all levels.  All of the instructors are experienced and BKSA qualified and their equipment, teaching and health & safety standards meet all the tough BKSA requirements.  This will ensure you have fun and stay safe on the water.  You can check out Gower Kite Riders by following the link to their website on our partner’s page.

Before you take to the water on one of our BKSA courses we recommend you try one of our power kiting sessions first.  This will help you learn how to handle a kite ensuring you get the most out of your kite surfing lesson, as well as providing you with the opportunity to meet new people and gain confidence.  We hold 1 hour introductory power kiting sessions suitable for those age 10+ for £8.50 and for those age 16+ for £10.50.

Once you’ve mastered your kite handling skills you’re ready to progress to this kite surf discovery course.  Your BKSA instructor will introduce you to leading edge inflatable kites, equipment set up, the harness, launching, body dragging through the water and returning to shore.  You need to be 18+ and be able to swim 50 meters in deep water to take part on the course.  At the end of the course you will be issued with a BKSA kite surf card and certified up to Level 1 standard, this will record your initiation into the sport and show you are ready to continue learning safely.  The course cost is £95.

BKSA kite surf courses will be running throughout 2013, for more information on course dates please email or call us on 01792 655888.

If you would like to take your kite surfing skills to the next level then please email and we’ll send you more details about our intermediate and advanced courses.

Use of all kites, boards and other equipment is included in the course cost.

Safety comes first with us here at 360, which is why we use a BKSA school to provide kite surf tuition on our behalf.  All customers will be given a buoyancy aid to wear whilst on the water and should follow the instructions given by the instructor at all times.  Gower Kite Riders (GKR) will ensure that the weather and tidal conditions are suitable, so you can enjoy your kite surfing session to the max!

Please ensure you bring your swimwear to put on underneath the wetsuit GKR will provide you.  Footwear is also provided to protect your feet whilst on the beach.  All clothing provided is included in the session cost.  Don’t forget to bring a towel as our changing, shower and locker facilities are free for you to use.  Please note our lockers require a padlock with a 6-8mm diameter shackle, bring your own or you can purchase a resettable combination padlock from 360 for £5.
