360 Beach & Watersports was born out of a vision to develop Swansea Bay as a centre of excellence for watersports.  360 is one of a number of projects stretching from Porthcawl to Mumbles funded by the Wales European Funding Office as well as the Welsh Government through Visit Wales and the Regeneration Area programme.

Developed by the City and County of Swansea at a cost of £1.4m, 360 is run by Bay Sports Limited, a not-for-profit company established in 50:50 partnership by Swansea University & Bay Leisure Limited.

Swansea University is a world-class research-led university located at the heart of the city with a proven track record of promoting access to education & a commitment to top class sport.  The University was established in 1920 and currently offers around 500 undergraduate courses & 150 post-graduate courses to 15,921 undergraduate & postgraduate students.

Bay Leisure Ltd (BLL) is a not-for-profit company that is limited by guarantee & a leading leisure operator in the city.  BLL was created in August 2007, in the first instance, to operate The LC, the newly refurbished Swansea leisure centre which has gone on to become a multi-award winning destination.  In 2010 BLL added Simply Gym to its portfolio & in 2013 Simply Play.  The company prides itself on delivering world class service, whilst maximising participation throughout the community.

Both partners enjoy very positive local reputations & share an ethos based on service & quality.  The partners complement each other as a result of their diverse backgrounds which strengthens the breadth and inclusivity of 360.

“The partnership aims to drive inclusivity & accessibility for all through sports, physical activity & social opportunity thus embedding education, well-being & lifelong learning into the community.

We are committed to help Swansea realise its ambition of being one of the UK’s leading cities in which to live, study & play”
